A local boutique approached me to establish an online presence. I built an e-commerce website using WooCommerce, giving the owners full control over content and sales. Additionally, I developed a mobile app using React Native, modeled on ASOS’s user experience, to create a seamless shopping experience across platforms.
After launch, the boutique did not actively manage the website or app, failing to implement promotions or maintain the platforms. Observing this, I recommended taking both offline to prevent customer disappointment and protect the brand’s reputation. While fully functional, leaving them live without proper engagement risked creating a negative impression among customers.
The approach ensured the boutique’s brand image remained strong and intact until they were ready to fully commit to an online strategy, balancing technical delivery with strategic brand protection.
